Qualitative Research Question
What are the perceptions and lived experiences of university students who took part in the MBI for mitigating stress and anxiety?
Quantitative Research Question
To what level does an MBI reduce anxiety and stress among university students as compared to a control group?
MixedMethodology Research Question
How do the quantitative approaches to stress and anxiety reduction from the MBI align with the qualitative perceptions and experiences reported by university students who took part in the program?
Examination of Questions
1.The mixed-methodology research question best captures the research problem because it enables a comprehensive and holistic assessment of the intervention’s impact on anxiety and stress levels among university students considering both subjective and objective experiences.
2.Quantitative research questions are pretty common in the field of psychology and healthcare to evaluate how effective treatment and intervention programs are making it a more accurate representation of typical research questions in this area (Camic, 2021).
3.While creating the research questions, I noticed that each of these questions focused on a specific purpose or goal. The quantitative question aimed at measuring the impact objectively, the qualitative aimed at comprehending experiences, while the mixed-methodology questions combined both quantitative and qualitative designs for a holistic view. I also noticed the importance of addressing the research question via different questions and angles to obtain diverse insights. This practical activity taught me the significance of aligning the research problem with the most suitable research methodology to effectively respond to the question.
