ENG 101 Course Reflection Final Exam Instructions
Write a two-paragraph essay reflecting on your experience in English Composition I.
Follow these instructions:
• Compose your essay in a Word document in MLA 9 format.
• Give your essay a unique and creative title.
• Each paragraph should be a minimum of 10 complete sentences.
• Each paragraph should meet our guidelines for a well-written paragraph. Each
paragraph must contain a clear and correctly placed topic sentence, a closing
sentence summarizing the information shared in the paragraph, and detail
sentences in logical progression in the middle.
• It is okay to use personal pronouns like “I” or “me” in this essay.
• Paragraph One:
A. The topic of this paragraph is our course content and what you learned from
it. Review the four Units we covered in this class (Course Documents section): 1. The Paragraph 2. The Memoir 3. The Novel 4. The Research Paper
Share the most important thing/s you learned in each Unit. Be very specific. Share some specific examples of things you did that resulted in learning an important concept in a particular Unit.
• Paragraph Two: The topic of this paragraph is your progress in this class and in the future. Review the work you submitted in this class. Reviewing the syllabus may also be
helpful. Think about what you learned and the progress you made. After this, respond to the following prompts in paragraph two:
1. Identify your effort level for this class. Be honest with yourself. Was your
effort strong or just satisfactory? Did it need improvement? Was it weak?
2. How much time did you spend on ENG 101 lessons daily or weekly?
3. How did you grow as an ENG 101 student during the summer semester?
Is there anything you could have done better?
4. What did you do well in ENG 101? What English composition concepts and
skills do you feel the most confident in now?
5. How does what you learned in ENG 101 connect with other subject areas
and with real life? How will you apply what you learned in ENG 101 to
other college classes? With friends and family? In the community?
6. What did you learn about yourself from taking ENG 101?
• Proofread your essay. Make sure you responded to all the prompts in two well-
written paragraphs of 10 complete sentences or more. Check your MLA format,
spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Review your essay with a Success Tutor
before submission.
• Submit your essay in Bb by or before the due date in the Assignment Schedule.
