Group Presentation Instructions
Collectively, the group’s goal is to assess nutrition and physical activity for one school district within a single state; as a group, you’ll construct an 8-10 slide GoogleSlide presentation to be presented to the Governor of your selected state. Please address the following questions as you collaborate and build your case.
School Nutrition
Selected school district-Los Angeles Unified School District or Temecula Valley school District:
How is it addressing current nutrition? Compare the school’s nutrition plan to Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025? (ATTACHED)
What are the opinions and concerns of you and your group members about the current diet provided in the school as well as nutritional education?
What changes in nutrition would you recommend, and how would your group implement them over a 2-year period to address the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025? (opens in a new window)
School Physical Activity
How is the school doing at addressing physical activity among youth? Compare the school’s activity plan to the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (2nd ed) 2018. (ATTACHED)
What are the opinions and concerns of you and your group members about the current physical activity options/requirements in the school?
What changes in physical activity would you recommend, and how would your group implement them over a 2-year period that would address the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (2nd ed) 2018? (opens in a new window)
If there is a 4th member, the 2nd nutritionist can address the education of students/parents for these two issues.
