HEALTH CARE CONSUMER TRENDS AND MARKETING
1. Scenario
In the health care industry, work is not divided among a team; rather, collaborators work together to complete the task at hand. This activity intends to facilitate a collaborative discussion centered on the research each member will complete. In your discussion, you will describe the use of business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) sales and marketing in health care.
Preparation
o Review “B2B vs. B2C: What’s the Difference” from this week’s learning activities to learn the differences between the two types of business strategies.
o Watch “Distribution System (B2B, B2C)” as you prepare to complete the assignment. This video gives insight to how businesses are now changing from marketing information straight to consumers.
Assignment Deliverable
For this assignment, choose 1 of the following:
o Use the example discussion prompt: Describe the use of B2B and B2C in health care.
o Use a B2B and B2C discussion prompt of your group’s choice.
A great way to start this discussion is for one group member to post the group’s selected prompt in the discussion area of the assignment. Group members can then post information they find and the corresponding citation. All group members should try to have their own research posted by Friday of this week.
To receive credit for your discussion, complete the following:
Part 1 (Each group member should try to have their own Part 1 research posted by Friday of this week):
o As an individual, research the following and contribute to a substantial discussion with your peers regarding the discussion prompt in relation to:
o B2B
o B2C
o How B2B and B2C are used in health care
Part 2 (The group should have this discussion completed by Sunday):
o As a group, host a substantial discussion on the topic. For the discussion to be considered substantial, the following must be included:
o All members will provide details from their research.
o All members will provide and cite at least 1 peer-reviewed, scholarly, or similar reference from their research.
Part 3 (Complete by Monday):
o As a group, create a list of 5 key points that summarize your group’s discussion and understanding of the topic. Select 1 person to submit a document on behalf of the group with the 5 key points that summarize your discussion.
Format paper and references according to APA guidelines.
Submit your group’s assignment.
Note: Your faculty member will grade your substantial discussion in the group discussion area as well as the 5 key points submitted.
