Practicing Digital Literacy
In a minimum of two well-developed paragraphs, describe the digital literacy required for this task by answering the following questions:
What steps should you take to verify the trustworthiness of any material you would need to complete the task in this scenario (data, information, images, videos, etc.). (For example, information that might need to be shared with the intended audience in advance or after the task is completed, or information gathered to inform your presentation, report, etc.)
If appropriate, identify the social media platform you would select to invite reflection from your audience (anyone who may have viewed, participated in, or were aware of your task). If not appropriate, explain why.
Analyze two benefits and risks of sharing information on the selected social media platform, if any. (Consider privacy, safety, and security of the audience or information.)
Practicing Social Competence
In a minimum of two well-developed paragraphs, describe the social competence required for this task by addressing the following:
Describe your intended audience. (Consider the context of the scenario.)
Explain two ways you can help your audience feel included, represented, and respected.
Identify two red flags that could signal possible bias in audio/visual content. (Bias is unfair prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group).
Discuss two strategies for including individuals who are hearing or visually impaired.
Conclusion
In a minimum of one paragraph, describe at least two key takeaways from thinking through this process of applying digital fluency to complete the task in your scenario.
Assess your level of confidence about using this process to apply the components of digital fluency to future tasks.
