Informed consent of course is important, but particularly when your target population involves minors. So of course parent or guardians will need to be that point of contact when involving their kids in research too. However it looks like your research topic includes needing genuine observation responses of those children for valid results and avoiding any bias or prompting the kids. Any subconscious encouragement to respond a certain way may steer the kids toward a hypothesis behavior or away from it. I guess after your research concludes, then revealing any deceptions to the parents would be appropriate at that time. What did you mean by “mode of technology?’
