For this assignment, I want you to take on a big national topic that is covered by at least two of the key authors in this class. For example, how did the Cold War affect the Southwest? How did World War II affect the Southwest? What were the immediate impacts of the War of 1846 (the U.S. war with Mexico) on the Southwest? How did women in the Southwest experience World War II? How did Mexican communities in the Southwest respond to World Mar II?[1]
These questions are of course far too large and too general to be answered fully over the course of a five page paper. The challenge in the paper is going broad while being limited in your source material the assigned readings for the class.
