Susan is a 28-year-old anesthesiologist. She lives with her husband Gary who is an orthopedic surgeon. They are both very career driven and do not have children. They have one dog, snowflake. After working a long shift at the hospital, Susan slipped getting out of the shower and fractured her mid humerus injuring her radial nerve. Although Susan is right hand dominate and is able to perform most of her daily activities with her right hand, she is not able to work until both upper extremities are fully functioning. Both Susan and Gary have significant student loans and she must return to work as soon as possible in order to pay them. To perform her job duties, she must be able to push medicine with one hand and bag with the other.
