The United States has been criticized by many for how its government works. I argue that the United States Government does not require any changes. The Current system in the US allows for the fairest and free system with a sound method of checks and balances.
The Electoral College has been criticized for being unfair and not a good way to vote for the president. It is possible for the Electoral College to allow a president to be elected without having a true popular majority, which sounds like a bad thing. As much as this does sound like a bad thing it allows a much wider variety of people across the united states to have a voice in politics. If the Electoral college did not exist the president would be decided solely by city voters. There would be no need for politicians to Lobby outside of the cities simply because there would be little effect.
Another aspect of our government that is often criticized is the two-party system. many people feel that neither party fully represents them and having only two choices often leads to having to choose between two bad options. I think the two-party system is the best way to have it. In a two-party system even though there are few people who fully agree with the side they are voting for, three any higher amount of parties to choose from would allow for fewer people to be represented. For example, if there were three parties and the vote was split 30% 30% and 40% only 40% of a minority of the population would feel represented. A Historical example of this would be Germany in 1932 elected the Nazi Party with only a 37.3% majority leading to some of the worst atrocities ever committed.
