Numerous topics pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic have been the center of controversy throughout the past 2 years. Should we mandate the use of masks? Should we continue social distancing? Should we hold classes face-to-face or mandate distance learning? Should we get the COVID-19 vaccination? These are just a few of the many questions that have circulated within our communities. This discussion thread is not meant to provide any answers to the previously mentioned questions. We all have different opinions and everyone is entitled to their opinions. Therefore, NO combative or hateful conversations will be tolerated within the discussion thread.
I want you to watch the following video produced in late 2020 from the Washington Post. It discusses and demonstrates the potential airborne transmission of diseases such as COVID-19. Our discussion question is NOT whether you think wearing a mask is needed or not. The question is, do you think showing this video could potentially demonstrate the importance of wearing a mask to reduce the risk of transmission of communicable diseases, not just COVID-19? What other ways do you think we as the public could help others understand the importance of wearing a mask to prevent transmission? Again, this discussion is not whether you agree with wearing a mask or not. The discussion is how we could best inform the public about the importance of wearing a mask when it is needed.
