The Research Paper on Racism constitutes 28% of your grade and is worth 100 points. The purpose of this assignment is to have the student research, through scholarly means, aspects of racism and think about how this research can impact their career as a sonographer. There are two parts to this assignment: The Research Paper and Discussion Post. Your paper should be written up in at least two (2) pages, in essay form [excluding title and reference page, double-spaced, 12-point, and Times New Roman font (length penalty: any less than two (2) pages is 10 points off per half page)]. To complete this assignment, please answer the questions below.
The Research Paper (90 points)
You are required to use at least three (3) peer-reviewed journal articles found through the Tri-C Library resources page https://www.tri-c.edu/learning-commons/library/index.html to answer the following questions:
 Question 1: Why should we as an American society learn about racism?
 Question 2: What is RACISM?
 Question 3: What is ANTI-RACISM?
 Question 4: As you know, as a sonographer, you will likely work with co-workers, higher-ups, and patients of all walks of life. You will likely be a part of a workplace and a medical system where conduct that promotes inclusivity is expected. Once you have completed your coursework and training and are working as a sonographer, how can you practice ANTI-RACISM in your workplace? Please be specific and give a real-world example.
*Your paper, need not be in APA format, but you are required to cite your resources as you answer Questions 1, 2, and 3. This means that you are required to write your source for the information as you write your responses. You are also required to list your three sources (journal articles) on a Reference Page at the end of your paper.
Discussion Post (10 points) On the due date, you are required to post a short summary of your paper in the Discussion Board forum entitled, My Research on Racism.? You will also be invited to an optional virtual class meeting on the evening of Wednesday, March 8, 2023, to discuss your findings. The discussion post is required, but the virtual class meeting is optional. I look forward to having a great conversation with you.

Questions 1, 2, and 3 should be researched and answered based on your findings as you research racism in scholarly texts. Please be sure the articles you choose are based on research as well and not opinions.
