Review an existing public health policy that is currently being used to address an issue or
problem of public health significance. This policy should be currently implemented in a
community, region or country (i.e. Canada). You may find existing policies through
various resources including public health units, provincial governments, both profit and
not-for-profit organizations, community and advocacy groups.
Your paper should discuss the specific issue(s) that the policy strives to solve. It should
contain background information and discussion in order to provide a more complete
understanding of the issues(s) involved and the rationale behind the policys
implementation.

Things to consider:
Identify the public health problem/issue
Describe the purpose of the policy and what it strives to achieve
Describe the activities of the program and how it is executed
How the policy was disseminated/promoted?
How do they monitor and evaluate the policy?
Note: You may be unable to find all the information listed above in your policy. In that instance,
what recommendations would you have to improve and/or fill in the missing gaps?

Your paper should be at least 1000 words in length and cite appropriate sources. It should
also include a apa bibliography and in text citations.
