Learning experiences impacted by the organizational culture quiz.?
An organization’s culture plays an integral role in guiding, shaping, and influencing the behaviour of the employees and the stakeholders. Developing corporate culture is a conscious decision that an organization should prepare adequately. The organizational quiz provides fundamental insights into the components of a viable organizational culture. For instance, the second question asks whether my organization’s core values influence the firm’s decisions. This question prompts the reasoning that core values intersect within the company’s culture. Therefore, culture influences the decision-making process in a firm.?
Starbucks has consistently promoted a culture of inclusion and diversity. The company appreciates the cultural dimensions of people and encourages its employees to treat all people the same. As a result, Starbucks has penetrated market niches across the globe since customers feel a sense of belonging while at the company’s premises.?
The quiz paints a picture of the kind of culture that a successful organization should embrace. For example, the question of whether the organization can fire, or hire based on core values ascertains that corporate culture is so instrumental that stakeholders should communicate their ideologies, values, and beliefs to the employees before the hiring process and during their tenure at the company. Starbucks is a classic example since the company emphasizes core values such as equality, respect, quality services, products, and warmth.??
The quiz results reflect how employees and stakeholders should socialize, work, and meet the company’s goals. As such, the existing corporate culture can produce either a negative or positive workplace environment. A culture that nurtures self-drive, respect, and determination promotes improved employee performance and productivity. In such a culture, employees remain motivated and can work with minimal supervision.?
However, an organizational culture that tolerates indiscipline, disrespect, and hostility is a den of disorder. Low productivity and high turnover rate. Consequently, such a culture is detrimental to the company’s growth since it compromises the value of hard work and commitment in the workplace.
An ideal culture for rapid change is adhocracy. Adhocracy is a type of organizational culture that encourages creativity and innovation in the workplace. In this culture, the organization’s leadership creates an enabling culture for employees to develop new ideas. I believe adhocracy is the most appropriate culture for encouraging employee participation, teamwork, and engagement. Such traits encourage productivity, thus encouraging the success of the firm.?
How continuous improvement is impacting Starbucks in relation to the merger of lean and six sigma models.??
Starbucks has recently increased its business and strengthened its position as a leader in the coffee and snack sectors. Due to the shifting interests and preferences of clients, this delicate business demands ongoing development. As a result, ongoing retail improvements have increased consumer satisfaction through the provision of high-quality service. The lean process seeks to produce high-value goods and services by minimizing waste and maximizing workflow (Kutbi, 2014). Starbucks would start the lean process by performing a system assessment and review to identify any gaps and potential solutions for the problems that have been discovered. The lean process aims for a seamless workflow by removing any obstacles that can prevent the adequate provision of services and products.?
The six sigma method strives to increase performance by decreasing process variation (Fitriaty, 2019). Process variation in a company such as Starbucks may emanate from poor service, low-quality products, and negative customer reviews. The six sigma model can be used to reduce such instances by promoting efficiency in the workplace.?

The Selected Organization
The company to be used in completing the assignment is Starbucks Coffee, one of the largest American coffee house companies and a chain store headquartered in Seattle, Washington DC. The organization got selected for the assignment based on two important reasons. First, the company deals in healthy foodstuffs which I find interesting as they help protect the life of the people. Two, I worked in one of the branches as a Starbucks Barista and am familiar with the structure and operations of the company.
Research Question(s)
Does motivation enhance the morale and turnover rate of Starbucks employees?
Does employee motivation enhance their attitudes toward their job performance?
Problem Statement/Organizational problem
Organizations in the contemporary business setup are mostly concerned with productivity and the firms position in the competitive market without taking into account other matters of importance such as how this can be achieved. Employees are the “soul” of organizations but in most cases, they are treated as the “sole’. This is hurting especially when it comes to off-peak seasons and organizations are undergoing financial constraints. Starbucks, one of the top-performing business corporations in America is not exempted from this. The company fails to motivate employees when they highly require motivation, and low morale and absenteeism are now some serious problems of the company that cut across the industry. For example, on a distinctive day, the coffee house has 2-4% of employees not showing up for work (Faragalla, 2022).
2-4% makes the aforementioned problem not sound like a real concern. However, more production time is lost from the number. Resolving this organizational problem would enhance the motivation that engages four fundamental variables: efforts, outcomes, performance, and satisfaction, which will make workers more interested in performing their duties, and have Starbucks recover the lost production time. Consequently, as a client, and someone who had worked in the firm I will be delighted to see Starbucks being on good terms with the employees. It will mean exceptional customer service, and I can receive quality customer service whenever I visit one of the branches.
Topic Selection
The Organizational Problem at Starbucks
Starbucks is experiencing an organizational problem related to organizational behavior. The company fails to motivate employees when they highly require motivation and is experiencing low morale and absenteeism from employees, which is affecting the firm’s production time and quality service delivery.
Recommendations
Every time employees detect an action depriving their rights, interest, or efforts, they develop a negative attitude and stick to it. So, managers do everything to win their hearts and have them come out of their shells to implement change successfully. Therefore, for Starbucks to be back on the truck, the company must consider the following courses of action that will have a positive impact on performance.
Starbucks must develop a vision for change. The company must create a vision of the future that is capable of focusing the group’s energy. The vision should distinguish want is done, and what can be done differently and must be complete enough to direct awareness on how to bridge the gaps in the future. Two, the company must make change the main organizational worth using employees feedback, internally developed organizational improvements, and other external feedback. The feedback will help know how the people feel about the firm’s operations and record attitudes, values, beliefs, and personality influence on performance which will evoke efforts to improve overall performance and profitability. Third, the company must have support from the senior management at the earliest stages of the change process (Tripathi & Bhullar, 2022). Employees and subordinate staff involvement are equally significant but successful management of the change process requires the attention of the senior management who understands the firms culture, organizational strategy, and the unknown at play. They can devise a strategic plan and allocate adequate time for implementation. Finally, Starbucks must communicate the change to employees. Employees tend to view the organizational change process differently. They think of it as a troublesome and impossible course. Therefore, Starbucks must have the change program communicated to employees to have them appreciate why the need for the change is necessary and must be persuaded to support the change program.
