There are several interrelated factors that can potentially create problems for developing adolescents. Problems can be identified as being either internalizing, which occur when individuals internalize their problems, and externalizing, which occur when individuals externalize their problems. As you identify a research topic, keep in mind that you may use this information to support your work for your final presentation.
In preparation for this discussion,
Read Chapter 13: Problems in Adolescence and Emerging Adulthood.
Choose two websites on one topic. Suggestions for topics include:
Characteristics of adolescent problems/psychopathology.
Resilience.
Drugs and alcohol.
Cigarette smoking.
Juvenile delinquency.
Depression and suicide.
Preventing adolescent problems.
