Peer Reply: While reading through both of these approaches, I found that both involved evaluating and planning or thinking forward. Identifying potential courses of action and then reviewing pertinent codes is how Ling and Hauck (2017) explain assess, contrary to Fisher (2015) who defines it as a means of recording the decision-making process so it can be evaluated in three key phases. Both evaluation techniques necessitate planning and a careful examination of the results. Both methods involve consideration and review to ensure that the correct assessment has been made. One model uses note taking, the other situational consideration. The complexity of Ling and Hauck’s model was the first distinction I made between the two. Fishers’ model, for instance, contains part one designated as assessments, which covers the numerous steps covered by Ling and Hauck’s model. Briefly, the intricacy or division of one process into numerous phases between the two approaches was the first difference I could spot. In contrast to Fisher’s model, which instructs readers to identify ethical issues after determining whether or not the situation is ethical, Ling and Hauck’s model provides references and examples of the ethical issues that should be considered. This is the second difference I noticed between the two models’ emphasis on ethics. They both discuss ethics and advise readers to use them, but in Ling and Hauck’s paradigm, the mention of ethics is more prominent.
