Give your thoughts using a minimum of 250 wor in the discussion posting to initiate a conversation and share with peers. Use the following three (3) steps to formulate your posting:
1. Briefly introduce yourself – include your name and specific examples of your personal (direct and indirect) experience with inclusion or exclusion in your early years (family, biases, stereotypes, cultural beliefs or philosophies, experiences). This gives your peers a snapshot of how your early life and upbringing were.
2. Give a description of inclusion and inclusive practice in your own wor. What metaphor might you use to explain inclusion (for example, everyone gets to participate, a melting pot or a bed of flowers)? You can use images to show how you visualize this. Include a citation with your metaphor or image and a complete reference at the end of your discussion post, as required.
3. Describe two (2) examples of inclusive practices you have experienced or observed in early childhood, public/private school, or college classrooms (adapted activities, assisted devices, inclusion of children or/and families with diverse abilities). The examples can be ones that you thought benefitted the child/student, or ones that did not benefit the child/student.
