You are required to complete a semester project as part of the curriculum for this course.
This semester project has 3 parts and all must be completed correctly and submitted by
the designated deadlines to receive credit for the assignment. Failure to submit the
semester project may result in failure of the course.
Please choose one of the following healthcare settings:
1. Acute Care Hospital
MEDICAL RECORD DOCUMENTATION AND STANDARDS IN A
HEALTHCARE SETTING.
A) For this part of the semester project, you must choose a healthcare setting from
the above list, and research the following on medical record documentation:
1. What type of documentation is required in the medical record for that setting?;
2. Who are the providers of care who document in the record in that setting?;
3. What regulatory standards for medical documentation must be adhered to in
that healthcare setting?
4. What accrediting body provides accreditation for that setting?.
B) Once you choose the healthcare setting and complete the research on the
documentation standards required in that facility, you must create a Power Point

presentation with this information. This presentation must be done using the 7×7
rule: each slide must have no more than 7 lines of text and no more than 7 words
per line. You are not limited to the number of slides you can use, but it should be
a minimum of 10, including a cover slide with your name and course information
and a reference slide as the ending slide, done in APA format. You can include
graphics with text on slides.
C) This PPT document must be presented in class as part of your grade for this part
