Research the current House member from the district in which you currently reside. Provide the persons name, age, party affiliation, district, how many years theyve served in office, and their committee assignments. To complete Part One, follow the steps below.

In a short paper, explain how you would construct a reelection campaign for this representative using concepts from the lesson and the textbook.

Consider the following:

Demographics of the district
Local resources and points of pride
Political history of the district

Look up your congressional district here: https://www.census.gov/mycd/ Links to an external site.
Select your state from the drop-down menu.
Select your district. You can use the drop-down menu to select your congressional district. Your congressional district is the same district you looked up in Part One.
Explore the information about your district using the six icons (People, Workers, Housing, Socio-economic, Education, and Business).
You may want to consider your representatives voting history and how their past voting may help or harm people in their district. Write your analysis with these factors in mind. Feel free to explore further but be sure to use credible sources.
Please use sources provided by your district, state, or the federal government (government sites use .gov instead of .com or .org in the website address). Be sure to cite your sources and provide a References page. You may choose a citation style that you prefer (i.e., MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.), but be sure to apply it consistently throughout.
