Task 2 Overview
Task 2 consists of three quizzes and a short paper. So, you will submit four documents at the same time to Evaluation via your course of study:

2) Muscular System Structures Quiz Results showing 10/10 as a PDF
3) Skeletal System Structures Quiz Results showing 10/10 as a PDF
4) Paper discussing how these three body systems work together to kick a football.

Parts A, B and C of Task 2 are the three quizzes.
You will submit a PDF of your results for each of the click-to-identify quizzes for the nervous, muscular and skeletal system modules with a score of 10/10 each. You can retake the quizzes as many times as necessary to achieve the desired score.

Written Part of the Task
Parts D and E of Task 2 are a short paper about the interactions of the nervous, skeletal and muscular systems.
Your classmates found it easiest to have two paragraphs.
1. For each system, name the key general (gross) components of the system and explain the normal, general functions of each of the systems (ie not tied to kicking the ball). Hint: One system has two halves to explain.
2. Logically explain how the nervous, then muscular and, then, skeletal systems work together in your described scenario. You should name and explain the contribution to the process of at least two specific examples of the a) central nervous system components, b) peripheral nerves, c) muscles, and d) bones involved in making the kick. You do not need to name every single structure in the process.
It has helped your classmates to approach the writing as if telling a story of a journey, giving directions or explaining a recipe from the start of the process to the end because it is important to demonstrate the connection between the systems.
Tricks for Writing: While the order of components in the task rubric starts with the musculoskeletal system, your classmates have found it is much easier to begin with the logical starting point of the brain (nervous system).
Don’t forget to explain the normal, general functions of each of the body systems, not just how they are involved in kicking the football.
D. Explain the normal functions of the skeletal, nervous, and muscular systems for the individual in kicking the football:
1. Explain the basic process of movement for the musculoskeletal system.
o Discuss how the muscular and skeletal systems work together to cause a described movement (kicking a field goal).
o Include relevant gross structures associated with muscles and bones, how they would normally function, and how they are involved in the movement. This should also include their normal function.
2. Explain the basic process of the central and peripheral nervous systems.
o The movement should include the gross central and peripheral structures and how they operate as part of the process involved in kicking a field goal. This should also include their normal function.
o Include specific parts of the brain involved with this movement and discuss how the impulse to move travels from the central nervous system to the peripheral nervous system.
