Sangeetha:
I am in grade 10 and starting to think about college or university. I am not sure which careers are good right now, but my interests include sports and being social with friends. I like working with my hands and being outside, but I don’t like sitting for long periods. My mom and dad keep talking about transferable skills and I don’t know what the heck they are talking about. Help me out!

I like working with computers or lab equipment, and I get tired quickly when I have to do any physical work. My mom and dad keep talking about transferable skills and I don’t know what the heck they are talking about. Help me out!
IN-DEMAND JOBS – Explain what the term “in-demand jobs” means to your chosen student and give some examples. Give a link to a source that proves the jobs you are listing are actually “in demand”.
TRANSFERABLE SKILLS – Explain what transferable skills are to your chosen student, give some examples, and suggest ways they could improve two or three of these skills in themselves (at least two paragraphs).
CAREER SUGGESTIONS – Based on the information provided by the student, suggest some careers (at least 2) that are both in-demand and align with that student’s interests. Give a brief description of daily tasks and expected salary for each career you suggest.
EDUCATION – Suggest a college or university program that will help that student get one of the careers you suggested. List some important courses for them to take in high school in order to get into that program.
STAYING SAFE – List some things for the student to be careful about while using social media that could impact their future career. Explain why these things are important (at least one paragraph).
