1 Introduction: This module is assessed by two individual assignments, a case study-based coursework (Assessment 1) and Poster Presentation (Assessment 2). Details of the assessments are as follows. 2 Assessment 1 (80% weighting) Individual coursework with a word guideline of 3,000 words (plus or minus 10%) to meet learning outcomes K1, K2, K3, S1, S2 and S4. Write a critical piece on the following two topics. Each question is 1,500 words. Topic One: Critically review the theories of competitive advantage and discuss how innovation is a key part of driving internationalisation strategies. [50 marks] Topic Two: Discuss how you would evaluate an organisations strategic resources, capabilities, and competencies, alongside how you would develop a greater understanding of the global environment and new sectors. [50 marks] Assessment 2 (20% weighting) Individual Poster Presentation to meet learning outcomes K4, S3 and S5. No more than 500 words. Case ? Netflix [100 marks] Netflix is a leading online streaming service that has rapidly spread around the world but is facing ongoing threats from several sources. This single-page poster will address this issue, and should include: 1. The key threats to Netflix, and trends within online streaming. 2. Broader global factors (megatrends) that might be important for Netflix. 3. Ten-year scenarios for Netflix. 4. The potential impact of future environmental forces on Netflixs business in terms of threats and opportunities. You may find it useful to consider the previous factors (1-3). Use words and images to present the message. You may use complete sentences, bullet points or diagrams. Your poster should also include your key references/sources.
