Area of Interest

[Briefly describe your area of interest for which you will develop a mini-literature review as part of the final project and an action research proposal for research. Your area of interest will reflect an organizational problem you want to resolve or more likely an organizational process you want to improve. Over the next seven weeks you will locate six current studies (two quantitative studies, two qualitative studies, and two action research studies) related to your area of interest (organizational problem or process that needs improving). Your Week 9 action research proposal will include a hypothetical intervention you propose to resolve the organizational problem or improve the organizational process based on the six related studies you found and your creativity.]

[Carefully consider the scope of your problem. Typically, the problem is an organizational process that needs improving. If the organizational problem or process of interest to you is a large problem with multiple causes that will require a multifaceted approach from different areas of the organization to improve it, it may be possible to delineate a particular aspect of the problem that you will address. Remember that you cannot address the problem by implementing an intervention if you have no authority in the organization to do so. However, this action research proposal is hypothetical. Thus, you can have hypothetically collaborated with others and hypothetically exercised your influence in your organization to help determine the scope of your project. Your study should address a problem of importance and substance and be one for which an intervention could result in improvement to a process or problem that matters to your organization’s leadership.]
