3) You are to come up with a project idea and then develop a plan to go forward with that project including some of the key tools used in Project Management. Look back at your notes and your book to refresh your understanding.
4) In each case you are to involve/establish a student organization. For example: for Access to Clean Water, you should include in your plan the establishment of an Engineers Without Borders student group; for Restore and Improve Urban Infrastructure team up with a student section of the ASCE (civil engineers), etc.

The Output
The deliverable will be an abbreviated Engineering Plan related to one of these topics above with the following sections listed below. I suspect this Engineering Plan will stretch into over 5 pages at least with many exhibits and support documents that need to be embedded into the deliverable.
1) Read and summarize in 1 -2 paragraphs what the challenge is, and if you did not pick one of the 5 above, why did you pick an alternate
2) In 4 to 6 paragraphs, define the STATEMENT OF WORK.
3) Create a Project Charter
4) Create a Stakeholder Register and list all the stakeholders that are critical to your initiative. Assess if they are High, Medium or Low Power and High, Medium or Low Impact to your project idea. Identify the unique Needs of each Stakeholder group or individual.
3) In an Excel spreadsheet, create a proforma budget for your project (make the budget a monthly budget with a 24-month timeframe). Consider line items for Direct and Indirect Expenses.
4) Create a project plan with tasks and milestones, decomposed to the WBS to address activities you would initiate to this engineering initiative. If you think your work to complete the challenge may take longer than 24 months, then consider 24+ months a Second Phase of the project. (You can do this on MS Project or Excel Spreadsheet).
5) List what Quality metrics you would be considering as you innovate a solution to the challenge.
6) End the paper with a 3 paragraph discission on how you would Monitor the success of your actions. (Or where you would look for Risk or Failure points in the project (not the innovation))
