As preface let me say that developing a shared understanding of race as actions that people do, rather than a thing that people are, we can facilitate more effective learning experiences and conversations. Talking about race as actions that people do helps establish common ground, foster a shared vocabulary and provide the opportunity to improve racial literacy.
After watching the previously listed videos, a brief response to the statement, racism is “a system of advantages and disadvantages based on race.” How is this system obvious to you and at times very subtle in how it manifests? (5 points)
