A police officer attempts to stop a vehicle for speeding.  Before the officer can catch up to the vehicle the driver pulls into his driveway.  By the time the officer catches up to the car the driver is already out of the vehicle and on his front porch.  While conducting the stop the officer determines that the driver’s license is suspended and he arrests the driver for the violation.  Prior to leaving the residence, the officer conducts a thorough search of the passenger compartment of the vehicle in the driveway.  When he checks the back seat he observes a hatch that is partially open leading to the trunk of the vehicle.  The officer searches the truck and finds a large bag of crack cocaine packaged for distribution.  The officer seizes the drugs and charges the offender with possession with the intent to distribute.

Please argue whether or not the evidence in this case should be admissible in court based on the U.S. Supreme Court cases that we learned about this semester.  Thoroughly explain your answer
