I have to respond to 3 classmates discussion posts please help me figure out what to say.
1. Part I: Introduction
Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone enjoyed their small break, I know have but I could not wait to start back up and learn what it is this course is all about. My name is Daquan Williams, and I can’t wait to tackle the course with you all.
A little about myself I am an active duty marine and have been for the past 4 years, I re-enlisted a year ago and am currently serving as an MSG (Marine Security Guard) in San Salvador, El Salvador. Personally, I believe my career goals are broad and everchanging based on new information I happen to gain overtime, but I do know the direction I want to go. Like everyone in life I want a career that can provide great pay, but I want to enjoy it and wat comes with it like traveling, opportunities, and the people you can meet along the way. To get into the career I have in mind perhaps the state department, DOD, many of the three-letter agencies or private sectors. The current degree path I’m on may give you an insight of why I chose these, right now I’m earning a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity.
I personally encounter art daily through fashion, cars, decorative arts, murals, memorials. I mostly encounter these through my hobbies I like to take pictures with my camera and capture the world through my eyes whether it’s from taking portraits of myself and others or landscape, scenery. My other hobbies consist of working out, playing video games, exploring, visiting monuments and attractions.
Part II: Understanding Artistic Motives and Themes
For this part of the assignment, I chose to write about The Lion Panel from the Chauvet cave. I chose this work of art because until I had no knowledge about it so this would be a great chance to practice my art conversing and sharing my thought process on works of art. When I viewed this art on the Ancient Art Archive it gave me the chance to view it in a 3D perspective. And it reminded me of the movie Ice Age and the scene where it showed to paintings in the cave, to me this was very similar it shows how the humans back in 30,000 BCE were still able to express their creativity through art. I believe this specific piece was made to tell stories to their children and the many people that came after them. This indicates that art and humans have been around for quite some time, not only with the ability to articulate but also the ability to use their creativity for something special.

2. Good- evening everyone,
My name is Tanisha Taylor I’m not and have never been in the military but have had family members who have been. I took this class as an elective with my current prerequisite classes. I was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Georgia 2 years ago with my family. I have three children two girls and one boy. I work at one of the best Trauma hospitals in the world. This experience has been nothing short of amazing considered this is also a teaching hospital. I’ve always loved art growing up and the expression and details that are put into it. Although art doesn’t have much to do with my nursing career, I’m excited to learn the history behind art. My hobbies would be listening to music I’ve always had a love for different varieties of music working out, hiking and being outside with my children who also enjoy being outdoors.
Part 2
This week, I decided to discuss about Stonehenge. On Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, there is a stone circle named Stonehenge, which has 38 stones. The building procedure took over a thousand years and four lengthy phases! Archaeologists believe the last changes were made around 1,500 BC, during the early Bronze Age. A World Heritage Site is a legally protected site of cultural, historical, or scientific importance. Stonehenge, one of the most well-known ancient monuments in the world, is historically significant. With approximately 350 burial mounds and renowned prehistoric constructions such as Stonehenge Avenue, the Cursus, Wood henge, and Durrington Walls, this region gives a lot of information about Neolithic and Bronze Age people’s lives. It has been the inspiration of several paintings and poetry, as well as being featured in novels, music, and films. Stonehenge preserves its function as a hallowed site of special religious and cultural value for many, inspiring a powerful feeling of reverence and humility in the millions of tourists who go to the site each year.

3. Hello fellow classmates,
My name is Stephen. Unfortunately due to medical reasons I never had the pleasure of serving this fine country. I have a ton of family that is currently in or are veterans though. Thank you to all who will read this that are currently serving or have served before.
I am currently attending the American Public University side of things (however I do not think that matters academically) and am pursuing my Associate’s in Computer Technology. My graduation period will be January of 2024. My ultimate goal is to continue my education and pursue my Bachelor’s in Computer Technology with a direct focus on Web Development. It certainly will be a battle however I am up for the challenge.
I previously worked for a local municipal government that is primarily populated by a different culture other than our American culture. I worked against the citizens in a Code Enforcement capacity initially (which I did not like) so later I moved on to an occupancy role which I felt I was much better suited for as I prefer working with people and not against them. I am very pleased to have been able to experience something other than the environment I was raised in. It really opens your eyes for love towards others.
I live in the Metro-Detroit area in Michigan. With this, the Detroit Institute of Arts is roughly 15-20 minutes from my home. I have had the pleasure of going there many times, and I find it quite fascinating. I certainly know little about art however, so this class will be pretty intriguing.
I am currently married, have no kids, but instead have 2 Border Collies and 1 giant kitty cat. One of my main hobbies is fiddling around with the inner-workings of Linux operating systems both through virtual machines and hard installs. What’s great about my hobby is that, even though it’s not the Mona Lisa, I have the opportunity to see what programmers and developers have created artistically through their desktop environments and different flavors of Linux distributions.

For part II, I am choosing the Stonehenge.
Stonehenge is a group of 4 ton to 40 ton bluestones that are standing in a plain in southern England. This was built long, long ago in a time when the wheel was not invented yet. If you do a little research about Stonehenge you’ll notice there are a lot of, “We think,” “It is thought,” “It could be,” phrases. There is a lot of theory and hypothesis involved. Some of the 4 ton bluestone was traced over 200 miles away. How could a civilization so primitive move things that are completely beyond the scope of their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics? There are many theories, including giant tree trunk rollers which assisted in rolling these massive stones, floating them down rivers with a fleet of vessels, and more.
Even though it is not one-hundred percent certain on how Stonehenge came to be, it is believed it was built to be a burial and/or a ceremonial ground. Stonehenge was built in phases over thousands of years; however, strong archaeological evidence shows that it was used for the aforementioned services.
The existence of Stonehenge indicates that we as humans are believers, artistically beautiful, creative, industrious and we have the ability to improvise. We as humans believe in ourselves, but also believe in something greater. And to believe in something greater we build upon that to indulge others even if subconsciously to what we have to offer. These are prime reasons to which why Stonehenge is visited by approximately 1 million tourists a year.
Thank you,
Stephen
