The goal of this campaign is for people to look beyond what makes us different on the outside, and remember that on the inside we are all the same. How we treat each other and look at each other should not be dependent on how we group people. The x-ray machine was such as a great prop for catching the audience’s attention and disguising the attributes of the participants involved. It was very effective in making their points. I don’t know that I would say it fights stereotypes, but I feel it’s the right language in the conversation. Sometimes making a good point requires subtlety and I thought the video was just enough. The big campaigns that are organized regarding topics or conversations tend to be a very in-your- face style and that simply will not get the message through. We’ve seen those conversations over the past few years and the events that made the most progress were those done in a calm rational manner. The attack style of you need to do this does not work and just escalates the stereotyping. I thought the website was wonderful. Easy to view, easy to click, easy to find ways that one could help contribute and be a part of the solution. That is very well crafted and once again, non-threatening design that gets the points across in a positive manner. It focuses more on what we can do, more so than what may or may or may not done in the past.
