In this assignment, you will explore and assess temperament through both observation and personal reflection. Part One: Personal Reflection (20 marks) Reflect on your own temperament. According to the work of Thomas, Chess 8L Birch, what is your predominant temperament style (Easy/Flexible, Slow to Warm/Fearful, or Difficult/Feisty)? Explain. For each of the 9 Temperament Traits, provide 1 personal example that reflects your personal temperament style. Explain in your example whether you are referring to your childhood or adult self and include what level you classify that characteristic, i.e. High, Moderate or Low. What aspects of your temperament may challenge you as a current/future Registered Early Childhood Educator? What aspects suit you to the role? In the article, A Level Playing Field forAll. Your personal reflection should be approximately 500-600 words (1.5-2 pages), double-spaced).
Part Two: Observation (20 marks) After watching the Temperament Observation Video: 1. Select fo_ur of the nine temperament characteristics (Regularity, Approach/Withdrawal, Adaptability, Distractibility, Sensitivity, Intensity of Reaction, Mood, Persistence, and Activity Level)’ For each of the four traits you haveI selected, you will identify whether you perceive the child to be high, moderate or low in that particular characteristic AND provide a short, written anecdote, using specific, observed details from the video that support how you made that determination. Ensure that the ratings match with the descriptions that you give within the anecdote. Anecdotes should be written using objective language. Each anecdote should be approximately 100 words in length. Examgles are provided. 2. Describe ‘Goodness of Fit.’ Why is this strategy important? In considering ‘Goodness of fit,’ what is one way/strategy that you could implement to support/guide Etta’s development? (150- 200 words) 3.
