It is the goal of this study to pinpoint the sources of the scheduling difficulties encountered during aircraft maintenance and inspection, as well as provide practical suggestions for resolving these problems. Unavailability of OEM supplies, unanticipated maintenance, and turnaround time are just a few of the difficulties that will be covered in this discussion.

To model the time it will take all necessary operations as well as unforeseen jobs, a simulation of line maintenance using DES is tested. MRO operators must update their planning to account for such contigencies, and switching to work packages and running it through DES can reduce timing and result in a much better maintenance program with minimal deviation from the plan. By modifying the simulation to fit the circumstances of heavy maintenance, this can also be used for regular maintenance.
