Review the definitions and examples of primary reinforcers.   Sometimes when a   primary reinforcer is used continuously, satiation occurs.

What is satiation?

List and define the 7 ways a teacher may plan to prevent or delay satiation.

2.  Secondary reinforcers are often used by teachers in an effort to increase desired     behavior.  List 3 examples of secondary reinforcers you would use in a classroom setting.  

3.  Teachers have used the “Premack Principle” for years without knowing the correct term for it. 

Define Premack Principle.

Give an example of this principle that you have either used in the classroom, at home, or on yourself.

4.  Review the types of reinforcement schedules in the chapter.  Distinguish between continuous reinforcement schedule and intermittent schedule of reinforcement.  Give an example of each. 

5.  What is a token economy system?  How does the teacher determine what reinforcers the students will work for? Provide an example of a simple token economy system.
