I only know the climate change situation. This fact is supported by scientific evidence. According to NASA (2022), “Ice cores drawn from Greenland, Antarctica, and tropical mountain glaciers show that Earth’s climate responds to changes in greenhouse gas levels.” This is evidence of global warming. Politicians should refrain from using this for their political game. It is necessary to stick to reality. They should consider resolving it and making changes to prevent this situation. So we can leave our children in a healthy environment. We, as part of society, can help in resolving this problem. We need continuous education and push the government to solve this issue.
Social problems should be solved with a peaceful approach. People can act in different ways to seek changes and improvements on social issues to get solutions. For instance, people protested when they needed a policy change. “Black Lives Matter” was the recent one. It was mostly peaceful. There was also some violence. The protest led to police reform. The government should have strict policies and consequences for those who break the rule.
On the other hand, violence can bring solidarity which helps to get solutions to problems. The stonewall movement showed the desperation and need for change and acceptance, and they could not tolerate it anymore. This situation made them act violently. In our textbook, functionalism’s theoretical perspective says that violence brings people together and stands up and acts or fight together for their rights. When people use violence, the government is forced to take action or make changes as quickly as possible. Changes or improvements should be made as soon as possible when people need them. Waiting and ignoring problems leads to violence and brings more issues. A peaceful solution is the best approach to problems because people do not get hurt, die, or destroy property.
