Marketing: Although fliers are an excellent way to get the word out about childcare, it is essential to keep everything “green.” The best advertising methods are social media, the internet, and word of mouth. There is no need to buy extra paper or certain kinds of paper for
fliers. There is no need to hire an outside source for promoting the childcare facility.
Staffing: Look at the number of children enrolled in the facility. Look to see the student-to-teacher ratio for the age group. There is no need to have extra staff if it is not needed. If you compensate the employees (show them they are appreciated), there will be no need to keep hiring people. The ones there will stay.
Materials: Ask families if they can donate materials to the classrooms. It will help the overall budget. There will be no need to spend thousands of dollars on art supplies and little things if parents bring stuff in.
Food: Have families pack snacks for their children or have them donate a box of snacks once a month for the class. This will save on the food budget. If the families can pack them a lunch, that would be even better. The less money we spend on food for the whole childcare facility, the more we must spend on other essential things.
