A formative assessment can be formal or informal for example it can be a quiz or reviewing homework for errors or misunderstandings.  If there Is a commonality where a good portion of my students did not meet the expected learning standard for the assessment, I will have an open discussion with my class and ask for them to let me know what was confusing to them. I will go over the material once more and also provide different ways of providing the material. “Attempting to use different techniques to reach students with different learning styles challenges instructors and keeps them engaged in the learning process since formative assessment provides immediate feedback about any success or failure that any particular technique may produce” (Meyers,2021). By asking for student feedback, I can get to the root of the problem from the students themselves rather than guessing what I should do next. I would rather hear directly what my students need form me and where small changes can be made. I want to encourage my students to speak up and advocated for themselves, so they will feel comfortable enough to discuss any of their concerns or confusing with the course material.
