As an adult learner, it can be a challenge to find time at the end of each unit to fully reflect on what you studied, wrote, and discussed in that unit.

As an adult learner, it can be a challenge to find time at the end of each unit to fully reflect on what you studied, wrote, and discussed in that unit. A Course Reflection Journal is integrated directly into each unit of this course to support you in doing just that.

Each week, you will reflect back on your most valuable unit takeaways, and record your reflections in an interactive Course Reflection Journal. In the journal, you will:

Discuss the most valuable learning experience(s) related to the unit, including include facts, concepts, insights, or ideas derived from the course content, outside research, your professor, your peers or professionals in the field.

Discuss knowledge, awareness, or skills you gained that may be applicable to your current or future career.

Discuss ideas, material, research, and topics of interest you may want to revisit in the future.

Create a list of resources for future reference (articles, authors, Web sites, professional organizations, research studies, publications, and so on).

For this assignment, you will create a 5-minute video presentation that provides a historical overview of one of the four basic components of the U.S. healthcare delivery system: medicine and medical education, hospitals, public health, or health insurance.

Note: A PowerPoint presentation with extensive notes can be substituted for a video with permission of your instructor.

Consider your audience to be staff members in a specific department in a specific sector of the healthcare system. Your video should be suitable for a professional audience, yet entertaining and engaging. You may choose to concentrate on the component of the healthcare system related to your current or future career area, or simply choose the one that interests you.
