Hearing the waving dance moves of her broom as it kisses the ground; my mother woke up so early. Yeah, I remember, second semester starts today yet my body doesn’t even want to work. But thanks to my favourite adobo she had cooked, my muscles loved again my bones, my feet got its puissance to stand like a horse almost reach the finish line. Without a doubt, I hurriedly went to the bathroom. Everyday seems to be just like this…just the two of us…here, in this old-like shack….surrounded by irksome gossipers.

“How long shall you stay there?” There she goes again. 

I do love the way my mom shouts. I feel like I’ll be gone soon. But, what if ….that happens? 

Bag, tie, and ID – everything is well prepared. Oops! My sneakers. Wait what?? A skirt? Seriously? “Ma, where are my jeans?” I asked. 

“It looks good on you. Try to wear it.” 

I looked at the place where she is located. Where could she possibly be? Oh, there she goes, wearing the same routine red outfit she’s been so fond of lately. My mother’s hand is on her back while her right arm is dancing along with her broom. *Sigh*

“Don’t you have anything to wear?” I don’t know how many times I’ve asked the same question.

And still, I got no response. I asked her many times, yet I received nothing at all. But there’s something that bothers me with those things like wearing red all the time…doubtless it is why she receives such annoying mockery. She keeps on sweeping as if there will be no tomorrow. I sat on this long, narrow single-seat furniture and started eating my favorite sweet and sour adobo. I remember how we ate this adobo together. I wonder where he is right now. Dad?…. I then heard something fall; a black cat suddenly ran fast towards my foot and licked the spoon that had fallen. I better go to school. If it’s not a cat, I’ll definitely cringe.
