Elizabeth left home at 17, she went on to get married, have 2 children and a job as a secretary. Elizabeth is now a widow that lives alone. She has a diagnosis of anxiety and has had panic attacks throughout her life. Because of this she is on several medications including, high blood pressure medication, an SSRI and a benzodiazepine for both daily and PRN use (during panic attacks). Elizabeth has had a recent fall which has affected her mobility and you have been assigned as a Personal Support Worker in her home to help with bathing and related care tasks. On your first visit to her house you notice several empty wine bottles, medications in various locations, poor home management, little food in the refrigerator and that Elizabeth’s hygiene is poor.
