• direct, first-hand observation of daily behavior • observation of participants • conversations of varied levels of structure and formality • genealogical exploration to determine kinships • key informant in-depth interviews • fact finding about particular areas of communal life

If at all possible, you will interview someone in your community/church who has a cultural background different than your own. Ask them about their home cultural experiences, and, if they have migrated to a new culture, ask about adjustment challenges they faced or are continuing to manage. Also, ask questions that can shed light on the basic values of the person. You may use this basic information in your final project.
