Its interesting to find out that there are laws in Indiana that regulate Health Care Administrators. In Indiana, Section 410 IAC 16.2-3.1-13-adminstration and management section states that “an administrator shall be employed to work in each licensed health facility, for purposes of this subsection, an individual can only be employed as an administrator in one (1) health facility; or (2) hospital-based long-term care unit; at a time” (Statues and Codes, n.d). I can see why this law is in effect, it can be extremely hard to manage one health care facility and I can not see how one person can manage 2 hospitals or units at time. Knowing that after I graduate, I have to be able to find myself a new position seen a bit scary. There seems to be competition and in order to beat the competition in the job force, I would have to be prepared and ready to take any challenges. “Healthcare administrators work behind the scene to make large-scale decisions for the healthcare facility or institution and deal directly with policy and budgets to create better patient experiences and ensure the safety of guests and staff” (What is a healthcare administrator? 2022). Healthcare administration positions are challenging and require a level of expertise, which I can gain by starting a job as a clinical manager in a smaller facility. Upon researching “Health Care administration jobs in my area, I found a job posting that would fit my degree, as well as my experience. This employer is looking for a clinical manager who can implement a strategic plan while overseeing both clinical and managerial needs. I believe that this job fits my degree that I will obtain.
