SEARCHING FOR MOONS
SPACE, SPACE
1 SEARCHING FOR MOONS
1 There is something to be said but I, for one,
2 forget. That star went out more years ago
3 than we can count. Its ghosts see dinosaurs.
4 The brain says No to the Universe, Prove it,
5 but the heart is susceptible, pining for a look,
6 a kind word. Some are brought to their knees,
7 pleading in dead language at a deaf ear. Spaceships
8 float in nothing in the dark, searching for moons
9 to worship with their fish eyes. It must be love.
2 ASTRONOMER
1 In love with space, stares up
2 as breath smokes signals into night.
3 Light years, loneliness, dark waves
4 lapping moons. From there sees absences,
5 gone worlds; from here perceives
6 new galaxies where nowhere is.
