Visual elements are powerful tools in getting your ideas across. That is why I am asking you to include visual elements in your essay and narrated slide deck.
You can develop your own visuals. Chapter 15 of your textbook (esp. pp. 437-439) explains briefly how to construct meaningful ones. If you insert these into your essay, you should create a label for your visual element, but you do not have to cite it because it is your own work.
However, it is more likely that you will insert a visual element that you got from another source. Because you must give credit where credit is due, you must cite your visual, both in your essay itself and in your reference list (as you would for any other source).

For your BY WEDNESDAY post, read the contextual material and follow the directions below. Post by Wednesday for 2 post-by-Wednesday points and 6 points for quality and timing.

If you are not planning to attend the OnLIVE class live stream for this week, complete the Live Lesson discussion. This task will encourage you to study more carefully how to incorporate a visual element into your essay.
Identify a visual element that you want to include in your essay.
Open a Word document and SAVE it AS Your Last Name Visual Element. Paste your visual element and label it appropriately. Also, if your element is taken from another source, create the reference list entry that goes with your element.
Be sure to include
a number in bold (i.e., Figure 1, Table 1, etc.)
a title in Title Case and Italics
(If needed) a which includes the citation
Also create a reference list entry if needed. See Slides 12 and 13 of APA 7 Incorporating Figures and TablesPreview the document.
When you are ready, click on the Reply button, label your post as a BY WEDNESDAY post and answer the following question. Sign your post when you are finished.
Tell us about your plans to meet the visual element requirement of your essay.
What visual element have you selected to include in your essay and your narrated slide deck?
Why did you choose / create this visual? What point do you want to enhance / reinforce this visual?
Where will you place this visual in your essay?
Attach your visual element file to your post.
POST 2
For your CLASSMATE RESPONSE post, follow the directions below. Post on a second day for up to 6 additional points. You may respond to as many classmates’ posts as you would like and have time for.
When you are ready, find the classmate who posted immediately below your BY WEDNESDAY post, click on the reply button under their post, label your post CLASSMATE RESPONSE, address him/her by name, and answer the following questions. Sign your post with your preferred name when you are finished.
Look at your classmate’s visual element plan and look at his/her attached visual element, label, and reference list entry.
Did your classmate accurately prepared his/her visual element(s) according to APA guidelines? If not, how could he/she fix the label and reference list entry?
Be sure to address these questions to your classmate. Use you/your in your feedback.
POST 3
For your FOLLOW UP post, follow the directions below. Post on a third day for up to 6 points.
Now that you have a plan for how to effectively incorporate a visual element into your essay, you have all of the elements you need to revise and polish your course project essay
Download my comments on your Week 5 Course Project Essay First Draft (see the gradebook) and SAVE it AS Your Last Name Course Project Essay Final Draft. Read each comment carefully and address it. Once you have addressed it, please delete it so you can turn in a fresh, clean copy of your essay without any comments.
Insert your visual element(s) + labels and notes where appropriate and call them out / tag them where appropriate.

Use your tutor feedback to revise your draft before you submit it to the Week 6 Writing assignment drop box on Sunday.
