Essay – Submit the Essay by typing it in a Word document then attaching it under this tab after you open the ESSAY Tab. Once you have the essay ready to submit open the essay tab and attach it. Make sure you check SAFE ASSIGN before you submit it. I will not accept an Essay that doesn’t go through Safe Assign.
The Essay should consist of a cover page, 4 pages about your artist, a bibliography page, and 1 example of their work.
The format is as follows:
You will need a cover page about your artist with your name and title of your essay. The essay body will be at least 4 typed pages about the artist and their work, double spaced, 14 pt.. You will need a bibliography page with your references and at least 1 image of the artist work.
Your essay will be between 7 to 9 pages in total length if done correctly.
As an example;
Page 1 – Cover Page
Page 2 – 5 – Essay Body
Page 6 – Bibliography page
Page 7 – 9 – Image of art
You may choose any artist out of the book or one of your choice that has enough reference to do a good paper.
DO NOT DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING; Michelangelo, da Vinci, van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol, or Dali.
Only 2 students per class can do Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Claude Monet, or Robert Rauschenberg. If you’d like to write on any of these it’s a first come first served basis so email me asap.
This is 20% of your total grade so do a great job and I’d start on it soon. For everyday that it is late I will deduct a letter grade off your essay.
I want you to find an artist and tell me about their life, their work, what era of art they worked in, and what contributions they made to the world of art.
