COMPILATION OF MY REFLECTION IN SELF ENCOUNTER FORUM (SEF) 1 TO 3 SPIRITUAL ENCOUNTER FORUM (SEF) 1 Spirituality in the Family: Its Implication to Development of Values and Character "The Family as Domestic Church: Cradle of Faith and Love for the Word of God" The topic was fascinating and very relatable. It made me reflect on how I treat my parents and sibling. I also took important notes to apply to myself as I grew up. My parents have been strict with me since I was a child. I never got mad at them nor thought negatively about it. Because I know that they’re doing this for my safety, I can say that I grew up having immense respect for my parents. They might be a bit over-protective sometimes, but as noted in the forum, it’s their way of expressing their love to me. One thing that I remember my mom saying is that one of God’s main commandments is to obey one’s parents. And I can say that I have been able to apply this mindset since then. But sometimes, we can’t help but disobey our parents. We sometimes become their disappointment. And as their children, we should always say sorry for our mistakes. And we were making a promise that we’ll never repeat the same error. I believe that enormous respect for our parents implicates a good attitude and treatment towards others. Our parents want what’s best for us. If we obey everything they say, they guarantee a good life and future. But as noted in the forum, some parents are called horror parents. For me, there’s no such thing as "perfect parents." They only have different and unique ways to express their love and concern to us, their children. As we grow up, we should learn things, especially from our experiences. Because sooner or later, we will also have children and become parents. As we go along with life, we should pick up the good traits and lessons we get and remove those traits and deeds that are not good. As for my parents, I thank God for having them. For being supportive, for teaching me to respect people and have a strong faith in God. And someday, I want to become like them. I love my family the way it is right now. Hopefully, when I have my own family soon, it will be as peaceful, God-fearing, and happy as my family.
SPIRITUAL ENCOUNTER FORUM (SEF) 2 Social Media in the Formation of the Spirituality of the Modern Youth "Digital Power: Engagement in Spiritual Apostolate Using Online Platforms" Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. " Mark 16:15 Nowadays, it is uncommon for a man or woman not to have a social media account. It is very uncontrolled for young adults or teenagers at heart to spend nearly the day browsing the net and socializing with other people. During the pandemic, whereby we have been on lockdown for about one and a half years, social media usage has risen, and extraordinary purposes have been introduced, such as TikTok, which has been an activity for some. I assume the surprising rise of exclusive platforms should be used for us to proclaim the Word. This attempting time is the ideal time for us to unfold and supply the Word because everything is nearly within our reach. Communication is no longer a trouble because, as mentioned. Different purposes and varieties of technological know-how have paved the way for us to speak and ship messages, and we should maximize the use of those. God stated that we must by no means be ashamed or get tired of sharing His words and promises because by doing so, we will be blessed, and neglecting to do so will condemn us. Using distinctive structures or functions must interact us extra in dealing with or associating ourselves a whole lot deeper in having an in-depth relationship with God and baptizing others to turn out to be teens of God. I may also not be expressive now, but I strive to continually share some posts on Facebook that speak about how devoted God is to his promises. I also share tracks from my Spotify account to my Instagram tales associated with reward and worship songs. If it is handy for us to surf the net all day, what should end us from dispensing a little time to reward God via social media? Nothing. We ought to put effort into praising God in approaches that we can, especially now that a lot are experiencing issues due to the trials, we have been facing these days. We ought to put him first in our whole thing, and advantages shall follow.
