I need help writing a good introduction / hook about Desmond Doss

This is my general idea so far:

Imagine you were fighting on the front lines in WWII you’ve been shot in the leg and your laying on the ground slowly feelings as your eyes are getting heavier and heavier as you feel yourself losing consciousness and the pain of the bullet holes still not letting you sleep and as you think about your life, your family, and all the things you weren’t able to accomplish in life as you hear the artillery shells exploding near you and the gun shots you see all of a sudden a man running towards you as he slides into the pit you are lying in he gives you a shot of morphine you hear him telling you to wake up your life isn’t over in front of your eyes you see Desmond Doss. Desmond Doss was a WWII medic who threw himself into the front lines to save his comrade in arms without ever once holding a gun throughout the entire war.
