In your journal, you will have the opportunity reflect on what you are learning about your interests and writing abilities as well as the forms of writing presented in class. There are three journal assignments in this course, in Modules Two, Four, and Seven, that ask you to reflect on your progressive understanding of writing and your writing craft. Each journal is graded individually. Approach journaling as an opportunity to reflect upon and apply what you are learning and as an opportunity to share your growing knowledge and expertise with your instructor. Do not be worried about getting the questions “right,” as reflection is about thinking through the process. Your instructor will provide feedback and guidance for each post. Throughout your writing career, you will need good reflective skills, and journal activities offer you the opportunity to further develop these skills.
At this stage in the course, you should begin thinking about which form you will use to write the final creative work. Consider the following questions to help jumpstart your thoughts:
