PAPER CHECKLIST

Clear thesis statement that is supported by research in the body of your paper

Papers must contain:

your name, paper title, course name and number, and your instructor’s name on the first page

a thesis statement

Introduction

body (supporting evidence)

Conclusion

a Works Cited/ References page

typed, 1-inch margins, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font

5 numbered pages (quotes do not count towards the page length)

Proper citations–Chicago Style

At least 6 sources

All of your sources must be from printed material—books or scholarly journals. Resources found through Billington Library’s online databases count as print sources.

Internet sources used have been pre-approved by the instructor (ex. no Wikipedia or blog sources!)

All work is original and properly cited—no plagiarism, no work submitted for another class

Paper is written in academic English—no slang, limited use of passive voice, consistent tense use, no verbal contractions, complete sentences containing subjects and verbs
