2. Choose ONE keyword that your fieldwork experience made you think of. The word you select can be something you heard when at your field site, for example, "pass" (if someone shouted at you, ‘pass the ball, during a soccer game). OR your word can be something you did not hear but fieldwork reminded you of, for example "cooperate" (if your team cooperated to move a ball up a field and score a goal in a soccer game). Describe the word you selected, answering how you chose this word, and how the word is relevant to your fieldwork experience. Minimum length: 4 sentences. 3. Locate and describe any "text" your keyword appears in (this should be distinct from your field site). Example: if your word is "pass," because people shouted "pass" the ball to them during a fieldwork visit, a second place this word appears-a text-is the film, "Northwest Passage." The film depicted sailors ‘passing’ through icy arctic seas as they traveled from the so-called old world to new. Minimum length: 3 sentences. 4. Compare and contrast the keyword as it appears in your fieldwork vs text. Example, what is similar about ships passing from one continent to another, and soccer players passing the ball down a field? What might be different about these two instances of things (ships and soccer balls) passing from place to place? Minimum length: 4 sentences. Be sure to include both similarities and differences you found in your analysis.
