You are the manager of a medium-sized office. For the past two weeks there have been contract painters in the office overnight working while the office is closed. Within the past two weeks, two laptop computers have disappeared from the office overnight. You are not sure who is responsible for the thefts, or even if the computers have been stolen or just misplaced. It could be one of your staff members returning to the office at night, one of the painters or even one of your janitors. Your assignment: Write an email memo to either the president of the company or the head janitor explaining the situation. Keep in mind that you would want to keep these two people informed of the situation for very different reasons. You would want to inform the president of the situation, but you would want to ask the head janitor for his / help with the problem. Be sure to use tone, vocabulary and content that is appropriate for your audience. You are writing one memo.
