Self Portfolio Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to develop a career portfolio of yourself taking into consideration your interests and personality.  It will also include a level of self awareness in relation to how you feel about yourself (self-esteem) and levels of motivation.
Throughout the semester you completed a variety of measures that provided information about different aspects of yourself.
They included the following:

There was also a discussion about your communication style and identifying the styles that would best describe how you relate to others.
This assignment has several steps
Step 1
Review the results of each questionnaire that you completed.
Step 2
Write at least one paragraph on the following sections:
Self Esteem
For self esteem, comment on your level of self-esteem and explain whether you are comfortable with the results.  If yes, describe what you have been doing that has been helpful for you to maintain a good sense of self. 
If you are uncomfortable with the results, identify aspects of the self that has been difficult for you and a plan to overcome some of these difficulties.  Please refer to the PowerPoint on self esteem.  Other suggestions might  include reaching out to social supports.
Motivation
What does your motivation scale say about you?  If you are comfortable with the results, explain how this relates to your life right now.  If your are uncomfortable with your levels of motivation right now,  identify areas that you can improve and a plan to address these areas. Recommendations have been provided on the website where you completed the questionnaire.

Personality
From the personality questionnaire identify what was shown to be your dominant personality style, example introversion or extroversion, agreeable vs disagreeable etc.  Based on the results , identify professions that suit your personality style.
Interests
Using your top three interests obtained from the Holland Interest Scale eg. Social, Conventional etc., list occupations that were similar to your interests chosen.  Also, what does the labour market tell you about your choices? Are there jobs in this area?  What is the average salary for positions that you are interested in?
Schools
Research the schools that have programs that you are interested in.
For example, if you are interested in accounting identify the colleges or universities that have these programs.
What are the pre requisites to gain entry into this programs?
For example, if you are interested in nursing you might have to take biology.
Do you have a credit in Biology?
If yes, then indicate that you have the necessary requirements and state this in your explanation.
If no, find out which schools offers the pre requisites and list their contact information.
List the websites, as you will need to use this information once you have completed this course.

Step 3
Plan
Pulling it together
Based on the information you currently have, discuss tentative next steps for yourself.
Dont be concerned if you are not fully certain about a career choice, this exercise is for you to narrow down possible career options and to work on areas that might hinder you from moving forward.
Indicate in this paper, what occupations you are considering at this moment.
Discuss what is holding you back from making the decision?
For example, the job seems interesting but you are not exactly sure what people do in this area.
How do you plan on finding this out? Consider informational interviews.
Or you like the area but there are limited positions.
What else do you need to know about the career that would help you to decide?
