Introduction to epigenetics

How to respond to this question in a detailed paragraph. 

I think the introduction to epigenetics throughout the video was very interesting, because I’ve often heard the word discussed in my science classes, however, I was never given a good introduction on what the topic is. I think the topic is very relevant to this weeks reading because it ties really closely with social determinants of health. I particularly like the party where the Healthy Birth Initiative was created due to community demand, since it’s good to see that community favor is being prioritized, especially after hearing about alarming statistics of inequalities of infant deaths across minorities. This could be due to the “food deserts” article, since the type of food that mothers have access to could play a role in how developed the infant is and how successful the birthing process is. The type of food can also determine how much nutrients the mother is getting and the health of both the mother and infant, which is what is contributing to the statistics. Based on the article, minorities are often associated with the areas that are lacking access to high quality food and struggle to have access to a variety of food. This can cause imbalance in their diet, which in this case, can negatively impact one’s pregnancy.
