For that reason, leaders are positioned in organizations and to assume this level of responsibility and decision-making. They must make decisions that affect the health and wellbeing of populations at all levels of society. Sometimes, that involves analyzing data or information with limited context and little time to render a decision. Furthermore, leaders in health organizations must be equipped to communicate those decisions and their rationale for making those decisions to various types of stakeholders, both internal and external to organizations.

This Assignment will allow you to practice these skills, creating population health informatics leadership responses to a population health problem.

To Prepare:

Imagine that you are a mid-level manager who has been asked to address a population health problem (e.g., listeria in water devices). To address this problem, you are working with representatives from a local health department. You are tasked with creating a response that is to be disseminated to stakeholders, including the public.
